Lodging FAQs

We recommend bringing your dog’s regular food, clearly labeled, any required medications, and a familiar item like a blanket or toy to help them feel at ease. Keeping your dog’s routine consistent can make their stay more comfortable and stress-free.
Yes, dog boarding can be a great option for first-time boarders, especially when dogs are introduced gradually. A trial experience helps dogs become familiar with the environment, staff, and routines before an overnight stay, making the transition smoother for both pets and owners.
Safety is a top priority during dog boarding and lodging. Dogs are supervised by trained staff, grouped thoughtfully during playtime, and monitored closely throughout the day and night to ensure a calm, secure, and positive experience.
Many senior dogs and dogs with special needs do well in dog boarding when their care routines are clearly communicated in advance. Providing details about mobility, medications, feeding schedules, or comfort preferences helps staff tailor care to your dog’s individual needs.
Dog boarding availability can fill up quickly, especially during weekends, holidays, and peak travel seasons. Booking early is recommended to secure your preferred dates and lodging option, particularly if your dog requires a specific type of accommodation.

Daycare FAQs

Gradually introducing your dog to daycare helps ensure a smooth transition. Start with short visits or half-day sessions, bring their favorite toy or blanket, and keep a consistent routine. This reduces stress and helps your dog feel comfortable in the new environment.
Dogs are grouped based on size, age, and energy level to ensure safe and enjoyable interactions. Staff closely supervise all play sessions to prevent conflicts and encourage positive socialization between dogs.
Yes! Dogs with shy or anxious tendencies are gradually introduced to smaller groups or quieter areas. Staff provide extra attention and structured play to help them build confidence while feeling safe in a social environment.
Our trained staff monitors dogs for signs of illness or injury. If an issue arises, the owner is contacted immediately, and appropriate care is provided, including emergency veterinary services if necessary. Preventive measures, like vaccination verification, help minimize risks.
Yes, The Dog Retreat offers half-day, full-day, and multi-pack daycare packages to fit a variety of schedules. Early drop-off and late pick-up options are also available to accommodate working pet parents.

Training FAQs

Puppy training can start as early as 8 weeks old. Early training helps establish good habits, socialization skills, and basic obedience, setting the foundation for a well-behaved adult dog.
Results vary depending on your dog’s age, breed, and temperament, but many owners notice improvements in behavior within a few weeks of consistent training. Regular practice at home accelerates progress.
Yes. Private training programs can address behavior challenges such as leash pulling, aggression, separation anxiety, or excessive barking. Customized training helps dogs learn better coping mechanisms and improves their overall behavior.
Absolutely. Dogs of any age can benefit from structured training. Older dogs may need extra patience, but positive reinforcement and consistency can help modify unwanted behaviors and teach new skills effectively.
One-on-one training provides personalized guidance tailored to your dog’s specific needs, especially for behavioral issues. Group classes are great for socialization and practicing commands around distractions, so a combination often works best.

Grooming FAQs

The frequency of spa visits depends on your dog’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Most dogs benefit from a grooming session every 4–8 weeks, while active dogs or long-haired breeds may require more frequent visits to maintain a healthy coat and skin.
Yes. We provide hypoallergenic shampoos and conditioners, gentle grooming techniques, and can tailor services for dogs with sensitive skin, allergies, or other dermatological needs to ensure a safe, comfortable spa experience.
For dogs with matted fur, our trained groomers carefully de-mat and trim problem areas. If extensive matting requires extra attention, we contact owners beforehand to discuss additional time or fees. Regular brushing at home helps prevent mats.
Absolutely. Our spa is equipped to accommodate senior dogs or those with special health considerations. We adjust grooming techniques, provide gentle handling, and monitor your dog’s comfort throughout the session.
Yes. In addition to baths and haircuts, we offer spa extras like blueberry facials, pawdicures, teeth brushing, and ear cleaning to enhance your dog’s grooming experience and promote overall health.

Yes. We offer convenient transportation to veterinary clinics, grooming appointments, daycare, or boarding facilities, ensuring your dog arrives safely and on time.
Same-day transportation may be accommodated depending on availability. Early scheduling is recommended to guarantee service, but we do our best to meet urgent requests whenever possible.

Physical Rehabilitation

Yes. Even if your pet has had an evaluation at another facility, a consultation with our rehabilitation veterinarian is both important and legally required. This allows us to create a proper rehabilitation plan.

A referral isn’t required, but we highly recommend having a diagnosis from your primary care or specialty veterinarian before starting rehabilitation.
Rehab without a confirmed diagnosis can cause more harm than good. If we feel we don’t have enough information after your consultation, we may suggest you seek a diagnosis before beginning treatment.

No need! If you’ve provided your veterinarian’s information in your new client forms, our team will reach out directly to request the necessary medical records and referral details.
Coverage varies by provider and plan, but many pet insurance companies now include rehabilitation in their benefits. We recommend contacting your provider directly to confirm what your policy covers.
We don’t directly submit claims, but we’ll provide all the documentation you need to easily submit reimbursement requests to your insurance company.
We do not currently accept Care Credit at this time.
